History

 

We are a newly chartered group (January 2017) comprised of members from the former Great Lakes Chorus and the former Spirit of Detroit Chorus.  Even though we are starting new we bring with us a proud history from both Sweet Adeline groups.  

 

 

 

 

 

A brief history of Spirit of Detroit Chorus:  

 

The Spirit of Detroit Chorus was created on June 17, 1986 from the merger of the former Farmington Hills Chorus and Greater Detroit Chorus.  Their common goal was to improve their singing through education and performing while sharing their love of the barbershop style.

Spirit has been a consistent Regional Champion since 1987 and has competed in International Competitions held in the United States and Canada.
